Joshua Bell at UNLV
January 26, 2009 by The Rebel Yell
For the third time in his already illustrious career, violin virtuoso Joshua Bell will perform at UNLV.
With more than 30 albums in his recorded catalogue, Bell has garnered dozens of awards including Billboard’s “Classical CD of the Year” and “Classic Artist of the Year” for 2004, several Grammy nominations and one win and most recently – the coveted Avery Fisher Prize.
Bell will be accompanied by pianist Jeremy Denk, also a previous recipient of the Avery Fisher Grant and an icon in the world of modern classic music.
The concert commences this Thursday night, Jan. 29, as part of the Charles Vanda Master Series.
The Charles Vanda Master Series, named in honor of its founder, opened at Ham Hall in 1976. Since then, the series and Ham Hall have featured dozens of famous artists and been a regional center for performing arts.
Tickets to Joshua Bell, with pianist Jeremy Denk, are $45, $60 and $90 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 895-ARTS (2787) or by visiting pac.unlv.edu. Student rush tickets are $13 each and available, with a valid RebelCard, one hour prior to the concert based on availability.
