February 19, 2009 by Joseph Romero
Ranking 21st in the nation, the Rebels are back in action at Leilehua Golf Course on Schofield Barracks, Oahu, in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
This 54-hole tournament will host 17 teams including UNLV who finished third last year with a 32-under 832. The tournament started Wednesday Feb. 18 and continues until Feb. 20 where 18 holes will be played each day.
Juniors Brett Kanda and Eddie Olson, along with Derek Ernst and Colby Smith will be competing for UNLV.
Swimming squad ranked
The UNLV men’s swimming and diving teams take the 24 spot in the Feb. 12 Coaches’ Poll since the first and last time they were ranked 21 in October 2007.
With the help of extraordinary performances by freshman and sophomore classes, UNLV has broken a school-record for regular season dual meets and is standing tall at 11-1.
Returning to Oklahoma City later this month, the Rebels are expected to take the MWC for the fifth time.
