Obama’s hypocritical response expected Default Thumbnail

President’s lack of consistency shows clear bias in ideology

The incident at Fort Hood shocked and stunned the nation when the news broke on Nov. 5.

As the news of a shooter gunning down 13 people and wounding another 42 followed, the U.S. eagerly awaited any words of condolence and resolve from President Barack Obama.

When the time finally came, the president stood in front of the cameras and for roughly two minutes, rambled about a productive conference with Native American tribes.

Then rather cold and mechanical, Obama addressed the nation about the attack in Fort Hood. He left the podium and the nation was left disappointed. Where was our commander-in-chief?

When it was eventually revealed that the shooter was Major Nidel Malik Hasan, an American Muslim, the first thought in the minds of Americans was that this was a terrorist attack.

As the days went on after the attack, information was uncovered and released about Hasan’s radical beliefs. It turns out that before Hasan opened fire, he shouted, “Allahu Akbar!”

It was then revealed that while giving a speech during a conference to fellow psychiatrists, Hasan was quoted as saying, “Behead the infidel.” If that wasn’t enough, it turns out Hasan exchanged more than 20 e-mails with a radical Muslim cleric named Anwar al-Awlaki.

Awlaki, an imam who was released from a Yemeni jail last year, has used his personal Web site to encourage Muslims across the world to kill U.S. troops in Iraq.

In the midst of all this information, Obama held a press conference at the White House urging everyone to “not make any rush to judgments.” Then came Obama’s long-awaited speech at Fort Hood.

With all the evidence about Hasan coming to light and even though the majority of Americans recognized this as a terrorist attack, Obama stood up in front of thousands of military personnel and insulted their intelligence.

Not once did he mention the word “terrorist.” Instead, Obama blamed what happened at Fort Hood on “cynicism and divisiveness” and the stress of multiple deployments.

There’s something very unique in this entire situation that the state-run media has completely neglected: how Obama has reacted to various situations that have arisen during his time in office.

Let’s go back to May of this year. On May 31, an anti-abortion extremist named Scott Roeder gunned down Dr. George Tiller, an abortion doctor. Almost immediately, Obama released a statement saying he was “shocked and outraged” by Tiller’s murder.

Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, immediately stationed U.S. Marshals at abortion clinics across the country.

A day later, on June 1, the first terrorist attack in Little Rock, Ark. was committed under Obama’s watch. Pfc. William Long, 23, and Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, were shot by a man named Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad.

Obama’s reaction to this was more emotionally toned down. He did not issue any remarks until a couple days later, when he claimed he was “deeply saddened.” There were no U.S. Marshals stationed at recruiting centers, as there were at abortion clinics.

Fast forward to July 26. Police in Cambridge, Mass. arrested professor Henry-Lewis Gates, an African-American professor, for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

At a press conference on health care a day later, a reporter asked Obama about his opinion on the incident. Obama said, “I don’t know all the facts…but I think the police acted stupidly.”

In perhaps the only truthful thing Obama has ever said since becoming president, he acknowledged he didn’t have all the facts. But he was quick to pass judgment on white police officers arresting a black man.

So when a Muslim terrorist murders 13 American soldiers on our soil, what does Obama do? He rambles. He talks about Native American rights and then half-heartedly addresses the incident.

His speech at Fort Hood was empty and meaningless. It dodged even the most basic facts of the incident.

The man who was so quick to condemn anti-abortion activists on account of the actions of one individual dismissed an act by a Muslim terrorist for fear of offending Muslims.

The man who was so quick to pass judgment and call Cambridge police stupid without knowing the facts urged Americans to not make any rash judgments of Hasan.

It is simple to observe that when it came to anything close to his radical, left wing ideology, like abortion or perceived racism, Obama was quick to react with bold statements.

But when it comes to attacks on American soldiers by Muslim terrorists, Obama doesn’t react at all — or instead treats the Muslim terrorist as a victim.

Why? Because Obama thinks that acknowledging Hasan as a terrorist would be a serious blow in his efforts to pander to the Muslim world.

This is also because Obama disdains our military. As a senator, he voted to cut off vital funding to our troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and voted against the troop surge in Iraq. He is now in command of the same troops he voted to betray.

As commander-in-chief, he proclaimed that the idea of victory in Afghanistan makes him uncomfortable and has, for nearly three months, dragged his feet on deciding whether to send more troops to Afghanistan.

Where is our president when we need one?

We don’t have a president….we have a BLACK man(?) in the White House.

Meanwhile, the terribly ridiculed and made fun of George W. Bush and his wife Laura visited Ft. Hood and the families of the victims while our Joker in Chief Obama goes to Camp David..

Shouldn’t Obama have gone to Ft. Hood? Imagine if it was Bush, they would never let him get away with it.

But we also need to stop inciting hatred for a particular people. This caused an innocent Greek Orthodox Christian Priest to be attacked by a Marine reservist in Tampa…because he thought he was a terrorist. Orthodox Priests traditionally have long hair and beards, and wear clerical robes and cassocks..

@CLEO2U – Muster up a shred of intelligence and realize comments like that give the reverse racists traction and diminish the very valid point being made in Matt’s article.

We Do have a President. He just happens to be black and that should have nothing to do with his policies or reaction to tragedies.

Granted he is weak on getting the facts, he is slow to decide military policy and endangers our troops abroad and domestic with his indecisiveness, and he has a lot of trouble keeping up with the promises he made whilst pandering on the campaign trail. Granted his “post racial” era has fostered and brought much more racism – from African Americans, and granted, some of his fellow dems in congress foster preferential policies and toward “minorities” border on racism themselves.
Matthew, you make a very interesting observation that many will shrug off and refuse to believe, or refuse to acknowledge due to vicious anti Judeo Christian secularism. When laid out, the trends fit like a zipper with the Obama Apology Tours – he is embarrassed by our past and values how the World views him over the best interest of the USA and our security.

    CLEO2U,

As I’ve stated countless times his race has nothing to do with his policies. I’m absolutely disgusted by such a comment. Whether you like it or not, and whether I like it or not, Barack Obama is the President of the United States and though I extremely disagree with his policies; he deserves respect for the office he holds.

perhaps obama doesn’t use the word terrorism because he has had it banned from the federal government’s lexicon…so what DO you get when you put lipstick on a jihadist…

  6. Nathan Warner on November 17th, 2009 11:31 am

Petros… Obama did go to Fort Hood.

  7. C on November 17th, 2009 1:34 pm

    Nathen,
I think Petros ment immediatlly after the shootings he did not go to Ft. Hood.

  8. Peter on November 17th, 2009 2:50 pm

Obama went to Camp David first then Ft. Hood. Bush made a secret, rather unpublicized trip to Ft. Hood shortly after the shooting.

Jarzen hit the nail on the head with this article. If it’s in line with Obama’s radical beliefs, he reacts, when it involves the miilitary, an organization him and fellow leftists despise, he doesn’t bother with it.

Mindless idiots, to a man, word for word, poison from the clueless. Maybe you people need to buy new toilet paper or something, or look in the mirror, yes that grinning idiot staring back at you is you.

  10. Ben on November 17th, 2009 3:44 pm

Obama doesn’t even respect the office he holds so why would anyone in their right mind respect him? Race has everything to do with his policies….don’t be so naive.

I was very sad to see how partisan Obama has become even when it comes to our service men. He did them a dishonor in how he treated thier deaths and sadly I fear things will only get worse.

  12. Thomas on November 22nd, 2009 11:01 am

    @David,

I completely agree. Obama is perhaps one of the weakest commander-in-cheifs this nation as ever had and sadly our enemies know it.
