IN BRIEF: Rebel pride hits NACA
November 30, 2009 by The Rebel Yell
Open Mic Nights are now an award-winning Rebel Pride Council tradition.
Members of RPC attended the National Association for Campus Activities West Regional Conference Nov. 5-7 in Portland, Ore. where special events director Louise Harris received the ‘Outstanding Low Cost Program Award.’
The award, given for the most outstanding event held for less than $1,000, recognized the work of RPC in holding Open Mic Night events throughout the year at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, across the street from the main UNLV campus.
RPC, Students Organizing Diverse Activities representatives and CSUN student government members attended the NACA conference to gain access to performers, speakers and entertainers who are willing to hold events at universities across the nation.
